These are my dad's favorites cookies. He is always complaining that there are no real good oatmeal raisin cookies until I make these....it's the walnuts in them. Add walnuts and you are bound to be a hit :)

Ingredients For oatmeal raisin cookies

1 cshortening

1 csugar

1 cpacked brown sugar

2eggs

1 tspvanilla extract

3 cold fashioned oats

1 1/2 call purpose flour

1 tspbaking soda

1 tspsalt

1/2 cchopped walnuts

1/2 craisins
How To Make oatmeal raisin cookies

1In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.

2Combine oats, flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.

3Stir in walnuts and raisins.

4Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375* for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks
