oatmeal raisin cookies
These are my dad's favorites cookies. He is always complaining that there are no real good oatmeal raisin cookies until I make these....it's the walnuts in them. Add walnuts and you are bound to be a hit :)

Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
How To Make oatmeal raisin cookies

Step 1In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.

Step 2Combine oats, flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well.

Step 3Stir in walnuts and raisins.

Step 4Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375* for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks
