These are very good cookies. They cook out flat so you can actually use a filling between them if you want. But I like them just the way they are.

  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1
    egg, beaten well
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 stick
    butter, melted
  • 1 stick
    margarine, melted
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 3/4 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 3/4 c
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, finely chopped

How to Make Oatmeal Molasses Cookies


  1. Preheat oven to 325. Line several cookie sheets with foil and spray with Pam.
  2. Stir together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon and set aside. Melt butter & margarine together.
  3. Beat egg well and add, in this order, both sugars, butter & margarine, molasses, milk and oatmeal.
  4. Now add to that, in this order, the flour mixture, raisins and nuts and mix well.
  5. Drop by teaspoonsful onto greased cookie sheets & bake at 325 for 10-15 minutes.
