This recipe came out of my Betty Crockers Cooky Cookbook. This cookie was a big hit at the Farmer's Market.

shortening
1 1/4 c
sugar

eggs
1/3 c
molasses
1 3/4 c
flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
cinnamon
2 c
rolled oats
1/2 c
chopped nuts
1 c
raisins

How to Make Oatmeal Drop Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, and molasses thoroughly. Swift together dry ingredients, add to shortening mixture mix well. Blend in oats, nuts and raisins.
  • 2Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
