This recipe came out of my Betty Crockers Cooky Cookbook. This cookie was a big hit at the Farmer's Market. Historical note. 1902 Fannie Farmer opened her cooking school in Boston 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act passed by Congress.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup raisins
How To Make oatmeal drop cookies

Step 1Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, and molasses thoroughly. Swift together dry ingredients, add to shortening mixture mix well. Blend in oats, nuts and raisins.

Step 2Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
