This recipe comes from The Settlement Cookbook, circa 1945. Some of my favorite recipes are from there. This one is always a big hit.

Ingredients For oatmeal crisps

1 1/2 cflour

1 tspbaking soda

1/2 tspsalt

1 csugar
-
1 cdark brown sugar

2eggs-beaten

1 tspvanilla

3 cquick oats
-
1/2 cchopped raisins
How To Make oatmeal crisps

1Mix flour, soda and salt. Cream butter and sugars until light. Add eggs, vanilla, oats and raisins, then flour mixture. Mix well.

2Form dough into 4 rolls, about 2 1/2" across. Wrap in wax paper, chill overnight. Slice thin, place on lightly sprayed sheet. Bake at 375 about 10 min., until they just start to brown. Cool on rack.
