Baby Peanut


This recipe comes from The Settlement Cookbook, circa 1945. Some of my favorite recipes are from there. This one is always a big hit.

  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 c
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 2
  • 1 tsp
  • 3 c
    quick oats
  • 1/2 c
    chopped raisins

How to Make Oatmeal Crisps


  1. Mix flour, soda and salt. Cream butter and sugars until light. Add eggs, vanilla, oats and raisins, then flour mixture. Mix well.
  2. Form dough into 4 rolls, about 2 1/2" across. Wrap in wax paper, chill overnight. Slice thin, place on lightly sprayed sheet. Bake at 375 about 10 min., until they just start to brown. Cool on rack.
