NOTE: This recipe that I am giving makes 5 dozen cookies. Also please note that the recipe I have written for directions on how to make, I left out the walnuts. They are optional and you can decide if you want them or not.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

These are not your run-of-the-mill oatmeal cookies. These cookies have a great flavor and I absolutely love the crispiness.  These would be great with some vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup.  Yum! The Test Kitchen

Ingredients

1 c
Butter Softened
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
Granulated sugar
2
Eggs
1 tsp
vanilla
1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking soda
3 c
Rolled Oats
1/2 c
Walnuts - optional

How to Make Oatmeal Crisps

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream Butter and sugars.
  • 2Add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
  • 3Mix flour, salt, and baking soda together.
  • 4Add flour mix to butter mix slowly.
  • 5Chill dough thoroughly.
  • 6Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 7Take out of fridge and using a 1/2 inch to 1 inch melon baller, place your dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • 8Place in oven for 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
  • 9Place on rack to cool, then eat.
