oatmeal cookies - very chewy
They are made with the old-fashioned oatmeal, and this time all I had was Bread Flour not All-Purpose Flour. So using a recipe off the box of oatmeal which I have enjoyed many times, I altered the recipe and used bread flour, a little less and also added a little applesauce! They do have a nice chewy texture which I LOVE.

How To Make oatmeal cookies - very chewy
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Don't grease the baking sheets. I make good-sized cookies, so about half as many as the recipe states, perhaps 2 1/2 dozen.
-
Step 2Combine butter, both kinds sugar, eggs, vanilla. Measure and mix dry ingredient, combine with above ingredients. Stir in oatmeal, add raisins, and stir in a little applesauce.
-
Step 3Measure by rounded spoonsful onto sheet and bake about THIRTEEN MINUTES. Let rest on pan until almost cool and loosen from pan, let cool completely. Then keep in tight container.
