Ingredients
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 - egg
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup uncooked old fashioned whole grain oats (not quick cooking!)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
How To Make oatmeal cookies

Step 1Cream together butter and sugars

Step 2Add vanilla and egg and stir until blended

Step 3Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt and stir until blended

Step 4Add oats and stir until blended

Step 5Add flour and stir until thoroughly mixed

Step 6Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease cookie sheet

Step 7Roll dough into balls about the size of a walnut that is still in the shell - smaller size will be a smaller cookie

Step 8Place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart

Step 9Lightly grease a flat bottomed glass

Step 10Dip glass in sugar then gently press the dough; do this step twice for each dough ball

Step 11Bake on greased cookie sheet 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
