I've been trying to find a good Oatmeak Raisin recipe for years, and I pretty much made up my own. Tested on my friends and family and got a thumbs up... Soaking the raisins really brings out the flavors

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 - eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 cups oatmeal (traditional)
  • 1 cup raisins

How To Make oatmeal cookie

  • Step 1
    SOAK RAISINS FIRST... BEAT EGGS AND VANILLA TOGETHER AND THEN ADD RAISINS, STIR. SOAK FOR 45 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR STIRRING OCCASIONALLY.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Step 3
    Cream butter and sugars with mixer. In a seperate bowl, combine flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Stir the dry ingredients until well blended. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Now, add in the eggs and raisind mixture, and add in the oatmeal.
  • Step 5
    Form into balls on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool for 5-10 minutes or until firm enough to transfer to a wire rack.
