    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c
  • 1
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    oatmeal, uncooked
  • 2 oz
    hershey milk chocolate bar, grated
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate chips

How to Make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream brown sugar, granulated sugar, and butter. Use stand mixer. Add egg and beat until smooth.
  2. Beat in salt, baking powder, baking soda, and vanilla. Gradually add flour and oatmeal.
  3. Stir in, by hand, chocolate bar and chocolate chips. Spoon onto cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake for approximately 7 - 8 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.
  4. Let cookies sit on cookie sheet for one minute after they are taken out of the oven and then move them to cooling racks.
