Jim loves oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, but sometimes I just don't have time for cookies. Then my mother suggested this recipe. In less than 1/2 hour I can have a pan of then bars made. Best part is Jim prefers these to the cookies.

Ingredients

1 c
butter room temperature
1 1/4 c
brown sugar packed
3/4 c
white sugar
2
eggs
1 tsp
pure vanilla
2 c
flour
2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
2 c
oatmeal, uncooked
1 c
chocolate chips
1/2 c
butterscotch chips

How to Make Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream butter and sugars together until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat.
  • 2Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture just until blended. Stir in oatmeal annd chocolate chips.
  • 3Spread in a greased 10X15 baking pan. I grease my hands and pat it into place.
  • 4Bake for 20 minutes in a 375 degree oven. Depending on your oven check them at about 15 minutes. Do not over bake them or they will become too hard when they cool.
  • 5Cut them while warm.
