Who doesn't like oatmeal, chocolate, and caramel together? Chewy good these are!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 - capful vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
  • 3/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
  • 3 tablespoons flour (to mix with caramel topping)

How To Make oatmeal carmelita bars

  • Step 1
    Soften butter in microwave, then add capful of vanilla. Stir and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add butter to this and mix to form a crumb mixture. Divide in 1/2.
  • Step 3
    Press 1/2 mixture in bottom of 8" x 8" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Remove from oven and layer the chocolate chips, then the nuts, and pour the caramel/flour mix on top.
  • Step 5
    Take the other 1/2 of the flour, oat, sugar mix and crumble it over the top.
  • Step 6
    Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove and let cool.
  • Step 7
    Place in refrigerator to completely cool, before cutting.
  • Step 8
    Store in air tight container in refrigerator for best results.
