This recipe was given to my mother in the early 1960s by an elderly next door lady. These raisin cookies are the best I have ever had...I am not a milk drinker these days but when I think of having one of these, milk sounds really good!
My husband and I made a huge batch of these for some airman on Spangdahlem Air Force Base..the Big 22. They loved us after those cookies! Hope you enjoy these too!

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

2 c
sugar
1 c
butter (original recipe calls for shortening or crisco)
2
eggs
1 c
ground up raisins (chop the raisins in a food processor) or leave whole
mix well then add
2 c
quick cooking oats
2 c
flour
1 tsp
each salt, baking soda and vanilla

How to Make Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix all together and drop by tablespoons full (Or as big as you want them) on a cookie sheet. Bake each batch for 10 min in a 350 degree oven.
