  • 1/2 lb
    (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3 c
    oats (quick or old fashioned)
  • 1 c
    raisins

How to Make Oat Meal Raisin Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat together butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; stir together until no streaks remain. Stir this into the butter mixture.
  4. Stir in oats and raisins; mix well.
  5. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Makes about 4 dozen.
