Ingredients For norwegian cookies

  • CREAM:
  • 1 c
    butter (or shortening)
  • 2 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 3
    eggs & mix with above items
  • MIX TOGETHER:
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    ground clove
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour
  • ADD:
  • 1 c
    nuts (pecans, walnuts, etc.)
  • 1 1/2 c
    golden raisins
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • FROSTING
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • hot water to get to spreading consistency

How To Make norwegian cookies

    Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2
    Cream butter, brown sugar and salt. Add 3 eggs and mix.

    Mix together cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and flour. Then add nuts, raisins, and vanilla. Spread batter in greased 10 1/2 X 15 1/2 pan. Bake 20 - 25 minutes at 350.

    While cookies are warm, frost cookies.
