  • CREAM:

  • 1 c
    butter (or shortening)
  • 2 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 3
    eggs & mix with above items

  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    ground clove
  • 2 1/4 c
  • ADD:

  • 1 c
    nuts (pecans, walnuts, etc.)
  • 1 1/2 c
    golden raisins
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract

  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    melted butter
  • ·
    hot water to get to spreading consistency

How to Make Norwegian Cookies


  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Cream butter, brown sugar and salt. Add 3 eggs and mix.
  3. Mix together cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and flour. Then add nuts, raisins, and vanilla. Spread batter in greased 10 1/2 X 15 1/2 pan. Bake 20 - 25 minutes at 350.
  4. While cookies are warm, frost cookies.
