Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup nuts (opt.)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup water
How To Make northland cookies

Step 1Cream 6 tbsp. butter with brown sugar. Stir rest of ingredients into creamed mixture alternating with 1/4 c. water. Blend in 1/2 c. nuts. Knead well with hands. Shape into 1 roll 1 1/2" high 2" wide and about 8" long. Wrap in wax paper or saran wrap chilling until firm. Cut with sharp knife into slices 1/8" thick. Place 1" apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 6 min in 400o oven Remove from baking sheet as soon as they are done. Approx. 6 dozen cookies
