Ingredients

3/4 cup butter flavor shortening
1 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoons vanilla
1 - egg
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecans, in pieces (optional)

How To Make norma's chocolate chip cookies

Step 1

Heat oven tof 375F. Cream butter flavored shortening, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in large bowl.

Step 2

Blend until creamy.
Step 3

Blend in egg. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture, gradually.
Step 4

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
Step 5

Drop rounded measuring tablesdpoonfuls of dough 3 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Step 6

Bake at 375F for 8 - 10 minutes (5 minutes longer for chrisp cookies)
Step 7

Cool 2 minutes before removing from the baking sheet.
Step 8

Makes 3 dozen.
