My dad taught me to make these cookies when I was a little girl, and I instantly became the "no-bake maker". I often took them to school, and now take them to work and they are always well praised.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 4 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    baking cocoa (do not use hershey's)
  • 1 stick
    butter, salted
  • 1 c
    milk, whole or 2%
  • SET THESE ASIDE FOR LATER

  • 4 c
    oats, quick cooking
  • 1 jar(s)
    jif peanut butter, 18 oz.
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make No-Bake Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine sugar, baking cocoa, butter, and milk together in pan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Let mixture boil for one minute, stirring constantly or sugar will burn.
  3. After one minute, remove from heat and add peanut butter, oats, and vanilla extract. Stir together.
  4. You may need to add a pinch or two more oats to make the cookies thicker.
  5. Drop cookies onto foil, or wax paper making them whatever size you want to cool.
