New Mexican Chocolate Crinkles
1 cplus 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 1/4 tspbaking powder
5 Tbspbutter or margarine
1 cbrown sugar, packed
3squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/4 cgranulated sugar
1/2to 1 tsp instant coffee (optional)
How to Make New Mexican Chocolate Crinkles
- Combine flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, beat the brown sugar and butter together until creamy. Beat in the eggs and blend.
- Add vanilla and chocolate. Mix evenly. Gradually add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture. Form into a soft dough.
- Chill until the dough can be handled. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll balls in remaining sugar, cinnamon, and coffee.
- Place cookies on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool cookies for a minute on sheet before transferring to a rack to cool.
