- In a large bowl, combine the sugar, shortening,molasses, and egg and mix well. In a separtate bowl, combine dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
- Cover and chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured bread board and shape it into balls, dip the tops in sugar
- Place the balls on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
