I would wake up in the morning sometimes as a little girl to my Grandmother making gingersnaps. what better small is there in the kitchen. I miss my Grandmother so.

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 c
    crisco shortening
  • 1/4 c
    molasses
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 1/4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt

How to Make MY GRANDMA'S BEST GINGERSNAPS

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, shortening,molasses, and egg and mix well. In a separtate bowl, combine dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
  2. Cover and chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured bread board and shape it into balls, dip the tops in sugar
  3. Place the balls on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
