I would wake up in the morning sometimes as a little girl to my Grandmother making gingersnaps. what better small is there in the kitchen. I miss my Grandmother so.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup crisco shortening
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 - egg
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

How To Make my grandma's best gingersnaps

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combine the sugar, shortening,molasses, and egg and mix well. In a separtate bowl, combine dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture.
  • Step 2
    Cover and chill for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured bread board and shape it into balls, dip the tops in sugar
  • Step 3
    Place the balls on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
