How To Make my favorite oatmeal raisin cookies
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 375 F. Lightly grease baking sheet(s)
-
Step 2In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, oats, baking powder and cinnamon
-
Step 3Cut in the butter until mixture is evenly distributed
-
Step 4In a food processor, blender, or with a chopper, chop the raisins
-
Step 5In a separate bowl, stir together sour cream and egg. In another bowl, mix molasses and baking soda. Stir into the sour cream mixture. Add chopped raisins and stir
-
Step 6Add sour cream/molasses mixture to the flour mixture, and stir into a stiff batter
-
Step 7Chill in the freezer for about 15 minutes, until easier to handle
-
Step 8Shape into walnut-sized balls. This can be easier if your hands are slightly wet
-
Step 9Place two inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten cookies with the back of a spoon
-
Step 10Bake for about 15 minutes until a rich golden brown. Cookies may look done after about 10 minutes, but they are better if cooked 3 to 5 minutes longer
