These are my family's favorite oatmeal cookie,mine too! Sometimes I add raisins,nuts or chopped dates but we really prefer them plain.

Ingredients
- - 1/2 c butter,softened
- - 6 tablespoons margarine
- - 3/4 c brown sugar
- - 1/2 c sugar
- - 2 eggs
- - 1 tablespoon vanilla
- - 1 1/2 c flour
- - 1 t. baking soda
- - 1/2 t. salt
- - 3 c oatmeal
- - 1 c raisins,chopped dates,optional
- - 1 c pecans,optional
How To Make my favorite oatmeal cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter,margarine and sugars with an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Combine dry ingredients . Mix well by hand. Add oatmeal and optional ingredients. Drop by tablespoons onto cookie sheets. Bake 9-10 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet 1 minute before removing to a wire rack. Cool completely to store or enjoy warm.
