Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, pecans & hazelnuts {filberts}

How To Make multi chip cookie bars

  • Step 1
    In a large mixing bowl beat shortening and butter with electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds
  • Step 2
    Add brown sugar, grandualted sugar and baking soda. Beat until mixture is combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionaly
  • Step 3
    Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined
  • Step 4
    Beat in as much of the flour as you can with mixer. Stir in any remaining flour
  • Step 5
    Stir in chips & nuts
  • Step 6
    Press dough into an ungreased 15x10x1 inch baking pan.
  • Step 7
    Bake in 375 degree oven for 15 - 20 minutes or unitl golden. Cool on wire rack. Cut into bars
