My Grandma got this recipe from one of her church study groups . She would make them all the time, and if she didn't we all ask why? They are a good soft cookie and if you don't frost them a quick one to make

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 4
    eggs
  • 1 c
    shortening(1 stick butter and 1/2 cup crisco)
  • 1 c
    buttermilk with 1 scant tsp soda
  • 4 c
    flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder level
  • 1/2 tsp
    level salt

How to Make Mrs. Studders Cookies

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix shortening and sugar till creamy. Add eggs one at a time. Alternate the dry ingredients and the buttermilk, mix till combined.
  2. Drop on a cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 10 min. What the first batch, everyones oven is different. After they are cooled frost with a butter cream frosting.
