This recipe was a favorite of my Grandmother. We looked forward to her making these cookies as they just melted in your mouth.

Ingredients

1 c
white sugar
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
butter or shortening
2
eggs
1 c
milk
2 c
flour
3 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
salt
1 Tbsp
vanilla extract

How to Make Mrs. Andersons Filled Cookies

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream together white sugar,brown sugar and shortening or butter. Add eggs and mix well. Stir in 1 cup milk.
  • 2Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt and add to the creamed mixture.
  • 3Add vanilla extract and enough more flour to make a soft dough
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Roll out dough in portions to cut out circles with cookie cutter. Fill with Raisin filling. Top with another dough circle.
    Bake at 375 degrees 8-10 minutes
  • 4Raisin filling
    1lb raisins,1/2 c water, 1/2 cup white sugar,tsp vanilla and 1 tbls flour. Bring to boil and cool.
