Well...I posted the one recipe from my kitchen towels before, "Peppermint Cupcakes", and now I am getting ready to post "3" more from other kitchen towels.

I just finished posting "Mom's Special Birthday Cupcakes" AND "Mom's Best Bake Sale Brownies"

NOW I will be posting "Mom's Favorite After School Snickerdoodles".

I love Kitchen Towels with recipes on them.....everytime I see one, new or old, I have to get it...=;D

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    shortening (i use crisco)
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar (i use either stevia, splenda or truvia)
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • ROLL BALLS OF DOUGH IN MIXTURE OF: (MORE IF NEEDED)

  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°F

How to Make Mom's Favorite After School Snickerdoodles...Cin

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream together butter, shortening, the 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla.
  2. Blend in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
  3. Shape dough by rounded spoonfulls into balls.
  4. Mix the 2 Tbsp. sugar and the cinnamon.
    Roll balls of dough in mixture.
  5. Place 2" apart on ungreased baking sheets.
    Bake at 400°F for 8 to 10 min's.
  6. Remove immediately from baking sheets to cool.
