  • 1/2 cup full-flavored or original molasses
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 - eggs, slightly beaten

How To Make molasses sugar cookies

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt shortening and let cool. Stir in mosasses and eggs. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Dough is VERY stiff and won't want to cling together. Chill. Form into small 1 1/2" balls; roll in sugar. Place on cookie sheet. Do NOT FLATTEN them.
  • Step 2
Bake 10 - 14 minutes. Edges will be browned and the centers will be soft.
  • Step 3
The dough freezes well. When thawed, roll into balls as above and bake according to directions.
