These cookies are a staple of my holiday cookies but are great anytime of the year!

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup shortening or butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves, ground
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 teaspoon ginger, ground
How To Make molasses crinkles

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Mix together shortening/butter, brown sugar, egg and molasses.

Step 3Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon and ginger. Add sifted ingredients to wet ingredients, mix thoroughly.

Step 4Chill dough, approximately 30 minutes. Roll scoops of dough into balls the size of walnuts.

Step 5Dip tops into sugar and place sugar side up, 3 inches apart, on sprayed cookie sheet. Sprinkle each cookie with 2-3 drops of water.

Step 6Bake 9 minutes, just until set but not hard. Makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.
