These are a great addition to any holiday cookie platter for fall and winter.
If you love molasses flavor, you'll go crazy for these and they're totally addictive. Yummmmm!!! :)
How to Make Molasses Crinkles
- Mix shortening, sugar, egg and molasses thoroughly.
Combine dry ingredients and add to first mixture.
Chill for about 1 hr.
- Roll into balls about the size of a large walnut.
Dip tops in sugar and place sugar side up on greased cookie sheets abot 2" apart.
- Dip tip of finger in a small cup of water and touch the top of each cookie to wet the sugar (that's what makes the crackle effect when baked.)
- Bake at 375* for 10-12 minutes. Cool for a few minutes and remove to cooling rack. Makes 4 dozen.
