memphis city school butter cookies
The school had a request for this recipe and it was posted in the newspaper in memphis. I remember these being so good when my nieces would bring extras home from school.

Ingredients
- 7 sticks butter or margarine
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 6 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 tablespoon salt
How To Make memphis city school butter cookies

Step 1In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter with mixer until light and fluffy . Slowly add flour, banilla and salt mixing to blend thoroughly. Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 7-10 minutes.
