This cookie is very light. I don't frost these with icing. They are kinda fragile and taste great with just sugar sprinkled on top or you could do cinnamon and sugar. I recommend you double the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 - egg

How To Make melt in your mouth sugar cookies

  • Step 1
    Sift together (I don't sift, I mix, but..) the first 4 ingredients.
  • Step 2
    Cream the sugar and shortening. Add egg and vanilla to the creamed mixture.
  • Step 3
    Beat and slowly add the dry ingredients until well combined.
  • Step 4
    Roll dough into balls (1/2 the size of a golfball) and place on cookie sheet. Flatten the balls with a bottom of a glass dipped in grandulated sugar.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
