My aunt gave this recipe to my Mom in the 40's or 50's. They were always made for the holiday season only. I remember making these with my Mom.

Ingredients
- DRY INGREDIENTS: MIX TOGETHER AND SET ASIDE
- 4 cups flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ginger
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons cloves
- LIQUID INGREDIENTS
- 2 sticks margarine
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 cups sugar

Step 1Sift together all dry ingredients.

Step 2Cream margarine and sugar. Add molasses and eggs and beat until somewhat fluffy. Hint: Lightly oil the measuring cup that you measure the molasses in - this allows it all to come easily out of the cup.

Step 3Slowly add dry ingredients to liquid ingredients. Refrigerate overnight.

Step 4Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Step 5Make cinnamon sugar: 1 c. sugar plus 1 tsp. cinnamon mixed together well. Measure chilled dough into 1 TB balls and roll in the cinnamon sugar.

Step 6Place on a lightly sprayed cookie sheet Bake for 9 to 12 min. at 325 degrees. For softer cookies - bake only 9 or 10 min.
