My nephew loved these cookies when his Aunt Betty made them for him when he was a little boy.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups unsifted flour
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (large)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmet
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda

How To Make margaret's ginger cookies

  • Step 1
    Cream eggs and sugar together. When well creamed, add the molasses, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Step 2
    Dissolve the baking soda in 1 cup of lukewarm water and add to creamed mixture.
  • Step 3
    Slowly add the unsifted flour until a soft paste is formed.
  • Step 4
    Put small scoops on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes @ 375* F.
