Makes 9 dozen
Ingredients
- 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup reserved cherry juice
- 3 cups oats, quick cooking, uncooked
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
- 1 jar 12-oz. maraschino cherries, drain & reserve juice, chop cherries

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets Bake 8 to 10 minutes Watch first batch closely, don't over bake. Makes 9 dozen

Step 2Sift flour, salt and soda, set aside.

Step 3In large bowl cream butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and cherry juice. Mix well. Add dry ingredient, small amounts at a time, mixing well. Stir in oats, cherries and pecans. Note: If mixture seems to stiff you can add a little more cherry juice.

Step 4Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Watch first batch closely, don't over bake. Makes 9 dozen.
