This one was in Ma's recipe file box we found in NC in July 2019 on the same page as her Lemon Bars recipe (in JAP). She must have liked both really well.

Ingredients
- BASE
- 1/2 cup sifted flour
- 1/4 teaspoon soda
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 cup rolled oats, uncooked
- 1/3 cup melted butter or margarine
- TOPPING
- 1/4 cup sifted flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3.4 cups cut maraschino cherries
- 1/2 cup flaked or shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Step 1Oven to 350 degrees. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add brown sugar, oats and melted butter, mixing until combined. Press firmly into an uncreased 9" square pan. For topping, combine remaining ingredients thoroughly. Spread mixture over base. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 min. Cool, cut into bars.
