I love simple, throw together, recipes that I can make on short notice. This one is the king of them all. Easy, delicious and looks sooooooooooo good.

yield Depends on how you cut the bars

Ingredients

  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup self rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins

How To Make maple walnut bars

  • Step 1
Combine egg and sugar, beating well. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Spread evenly in a greased 8" square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool in pan; cut into bars or squares.
  • Step 2
Carolyn's Notes: I used my electric hand mixer seeing that everything had to be "mixed well". If you do not have Maple Flavoring, use 1 tsp of Maple Syrup and 1 tst of Vanilla. Worked for me the first time I made it. Wow, are these ever delicious and I will post a picture the next time I make them. From the kitchen of Carolyn, the Crafty Gourmet
