Ingredients
- 11 ounces canned mandarin oranges
- 1 cup butter flavor shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons orange zest
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- ORANGE CITRUS ICING
- 6 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
How To Make mandarin orange cookies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350.

Step 2Cream together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Step 3Add in the mandarin puree and milk mix. Add in remaining ingredients.

Step 4Drop by spoonfuls onto a well greased baking sheet.

Step 5Bake for 12-14 minutes. While cookies are baking beat together all the icing ingredients until smooth.

Step 6Make sure you let cookies cool on rack completely before dipping each cookie into the icing.

Step 7Store in an airtight container, with wax paper between layers.
