Ingredients For mamaw's old time teacakes

  • 1 lg
  • 3/4 c
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    ice water
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How To Make mamaw's old time teacakes

    Cream together the egg, sugar, and butter.
  • 2
    Add flour, baking soda, ice water and vanilla and mix well.
  • 3
    Divide into 2 portions, roll out and cut with a cookie cutter.

    Bake at 350 until very lightly browned. For crispy cookies, roll thinly. For softer cookies, make them a little thicker. Store in a well-sealed container. Warning: these will go quickly, so you better make 2 batches!
