This recipe was one of the first recipes I ever made by myself, when I was a wee little munchkin. It was on the back of one of my favorite children's picture books: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, illustrated by Jim Aylesworth. (If you haven't heard of him, go out and buy all his books, no matter how old you are! You will not regret it.) I've tried many other oatmeal-cookie recipes since then, and have always returned to this old tried-and-true and well loved recipe. :)
