Ingredients
- 1/2 cup egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 8 ounces almond paste, grated
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 14 ounces sweetened coconut
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
How To Make macaroons

Step 1Preheat oven to 325. Line cookie sheets with parchment or foil.

Step 2In a large bowl, beat egg whites and vanilla until firm but not dry. In a second bowl, beat almond paste, sugar and coconut until it is the texture of small crumbs. Gently combine the mixtures.

Step 3Drop tablespoonfuls of dough one inch apart. Bake for 18 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom and firm to the touch.

Step 4When cool, melt the chocolate chips and drizzle some chocolate on yhe cookies.
