This cookie is always a crowd pleaser at any family gathering. Really easy to make, but make a couple of batches because they won't last long.

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups flour (self rising)
1 cup brown sugar, light
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
2 - eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
- m & m chocolate candy

How To Make m & m cookies

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees(F).

Step 2

Blend shortening, brown sugar and sugar together. Once blended, then beat in the eggs, and add vanilla and salt.
Step 3

Add to the mixture the flour that has been sifted and mix well. Lightly stir in the M&M's (as many as you would like) to the mixture. Note: chopped nuts can also be added if desired.
Step 4

Spoon the batter on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly browned.
Step 5

Cool cookies on a wire rack.
