How to Make Lynda's Christmas Ginger snaps

Step-by-Step

  1. in a mixing bowl place 1/2 the flour. Add the brown sugar, shortening, molasses, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. beat with mixer on medium until all ingredients combined. beat in remaining flour. I refridgerate about 30 min to chill down batter. Then I roll into balls the size of ping pong balls and then roll into granulated sugar and put on cookie sheet. I then flatten each ball with a flat bottom glass which has been coated with pam. then I sprinke with sugar before baking.
Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes.
  2. these can be frosted with melted white chocolate for a christmas look and topped with colored candy sprinkles...they are very pretty....
