This is a cookie recipe handed down through my husband's family. The original name was Aunt Lottie's, but now it's just Lottie's because no one remembers who Lottie was. Yes, it is one bottle of lemon extract, but it is not overpowering at all in these wonderful cookies. These are good for any occasion through the year.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 cups flour
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 - bottle of lemon extract - reserve a little for frosting

How To Make lottie's lemon balls

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Sift flour and baking powder together.
  • Step 3
    Blend butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream and lemon extract together.
  • Step 4
    Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  • Step 5
    Roll into balls.
  • Step 6
    Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Step 7
    When completely cooled, frost with your favorite frosting, using a little of the reserved lemon extract if desired.
