1Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, baking soda,salt and cinnamon together. Add slowly to wet ingredients. Add rolled oats 1/2 cup at a time. add remaining ingredients being careful to mix throughly.
2Divide into 3 equal and form into logs. Wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap and put in freezer at least 4 hours. Cut 12 1/4 inch slices per baking sheet. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.
3Returning unused portion to freezer until ready for next baking cycle or until needed.
May be stored in unbaked in an air tight container up to 2 months.
