Who doesn't love a pie crust like bottom layer with pecans,eggs and all the low fat (kidding) ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    sweet butter
  • 1/2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    pecan halves
  • 2
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • ·
  • 1 c
    chocolate chips

How to Make Lethal Layers


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In food processor, combine first three ingredients with the metal blade until crumbly.
  3. This can also be done with two knives or a pastry cutter.
  4. Pat this crust into a buttered 9" x 13" pan.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool.
  6. When crust is cool, spread pecans evenly over surface.
  7. Beat eggs with brown sugar until thick, then add vanilla.
  8. Put salt and baking powder in the bottom of a 1/4 cup measure; fill the rest of the measure with flour.
  9. Stir into the egg mixture.
  10. Pour over crust.
  11. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over mixture.
  12. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until center is baked.
  13. Cool, then cut into 32 pieces.
