Who doesn't love a pie crust like bottom layer with pecans,eggs and all the low fat (kidding) ingredients

1/2 c
sweet butter
1/2 c
dark brown sugar
1 c
all purpose flour
1 c
pecan halves
1 c
dark brown sugar
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/2 tsp
1 tsp
baking powder
1 c
chocolate chips

How to Make Lethal Layers


  • 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2In food processor, combine first three ingredients with the metal blade until crumbly.
  • 3This can also be done with two knives or a pastry cutter.
  • 4Pat this crust into a buttered 9" x 13" pan.
  • 5Bake for 10 minutes, then cool.
  • 6When crust is cool, spread pecans evenly over surface.
  • 7Beat eggs with brown sugar until thick, then add vanilla.
  • 8Put salt and baking powder in the bottom of a 1/4 cup measure; fill the rest of the measure with flour.
  • 9Stir into the egg mixture.
  • 10Pour over crust.
  • 11Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over mixture.
  • 12Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until center is baked.
  • 13Cool, then cut into 32 pieces.
