I have no clue where I got this recipe, but it turns out great every time I make it! I had only a toaster oven for one Ostara, so the recipe has been tested for the "smaller" kitchens, too.

Ingredients For lemon sugar cookies

  • 1 stick
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon extract
  • 2 tsp
    grated lemon zest
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1/8 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder

How To Make lemon sugar cookies

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Beat butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer set at medium speed until fluffy, about 1 minute.

    Gradually add sugar and beat until well mixed, about 1 minute.

    In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, and baking powder. Add to sugar mixture.

    Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.

    Drop teaspoonfuls of dough one inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
