Cayenne powder hot. Very different. Great for a Superbowl party. Guys love these. These are definately adult cookies. They have a real kick and you need to warn people if you take them to a party or gathering. Be sure kids know they are HOT and not just sugary. I had heard of peppery cookies and altered a Spritz cookie recipe to come up with these.

Ingredients For lemon fire cookies (cayenne powder hot)

  • 2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp
    grated lemon peel
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 1/4 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    cayenne powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • red decorating sugar

How To Make lemon fire cookies (cayenne powder hot)

    Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the lemon juice, lemon peel, and egg and beat well. Sift the dry ingredients together. Beat into the butter mixture. Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour to make it easier to handle.

    Place the mixture into a cookie press, and force the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with red sugar to your liking. Bake for 8 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned.
