My sister in law gave me this recipe about 35 years ago. She bragged on it and bragged on it till finally I tried it (I'm not a fan of lemony things) and low and behold it was as good as she had bragged!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 - eggs
  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice
  • - grated rind from one lemon

How To Make lemon bars

  • Step 1
    Blend margarine, 2 cups flour and powdered sugar. Pat into 9X13 pan and bake 15 minutes or until light brown
  • Step 2
    Sift sugar, flour and baking powder, add eggs, lemon juice and rind. Blend well. Spread over baked crust.
  • Step 3
    Bake 25 minutes in 350F oven and cool. Cut into squares. Dust with powdered sugar.
