lace cookie curls
I just found these fragile tea cookies in one of my Grandma's old newspaper clipping from 1965 ,it was posted by a lady named "Miss JUDY McCONNELL from Spokane WA." They sound good ...**I have not tried them yet** .

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup finely chopped blanched almonds
- 2 tablespoons water
How To Make lace cookie curls

Step 1Combine all ingredients in a heavy skillet. Cook over low heat , stirring until the butter melted. Remove from heat.

Step 2Drop by level 1/2 teasspoonfuls onto a well greased and floured cookie sheet ; space well apart , no more then 4 on a sheet at a time.

Step 3Bake @ 350° for 6 to 7 minutes. Let cool for 1 minute then Remove from cookie sheet with a wide spatula.

Step 4To make curl wrap cookies around wooden spoon handle...or a carrot. (if cookie becomes too stiff to curl , return to oven just long enough to soften )
