This is a Greek recipe from the ladies of my church on Long Island, St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Cathedral. These cookies are light and tender and are great for dunking

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, unsalted
- 1/2 cup shortening, butter flavor
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 6 cups flour. i use half cake and half all purpose
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2- 3/4 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2-4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 beaten egg
- sesame seeds
How To Make koulourakia ( butter cookies)

Step 1Cream butter, sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.

Step 2Beat in eggs and vanilla

Step 3Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt

Step 4Add cream and mix

Step 5Shape dough and put on greased cookie sheet

Step 6Brush with egg and top with sesame seeds Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes or until golden
