1 lb
unsalted butter
1/2 lb
sifted powder sugar
2 large
egg yorks
1to2 medium
shot glasses brandy optional
4to5 c
sifted cake flour
1 Tbsp
baking powder
1 tsp
vanilla extract

How to Make koulabiedes


  • 1cream butter with 1/2 cup confectioners sugar for about 30 minutes.beat in egg yorks one at a time.add brandy continue beating add vanilla continue beating for 45 minutes.begin to add sifted cake flour 1/2 cup at a time when it is impossible to add remainder of sifted cake flour when using mixer remove beater and begin to knead dough with hands.
  • 2continue adding flour after adding 4 th cup of flour begin shaping if to limp add more flour when dough holds shape without getting glossy, it is ready for shaping. shape into 1 inch balls and flatten slightly or form into crescents or s shape place on ungreased baking pan lined with waxes paper
  • 3bake for 20 minutes depending on size cookies should be golden,very light brown in color not white not dark brown have ready a large platter for dusting bottom with confection sugar when cookies are done remove carefully on to platter dust and continues dusting all cookies with powder sugar
